Transgender Rights

Public Law Solicitors has a particular specialism in relation to the rights of transgendered people. Stephen Lodge conducted the case of A, D & G v North West Lancashire Health Authority [2000] 1 WLR in the Court of Appeal which is the leading case in this area of law.   Since that date, he has conducted a large number of cases on behalf of transgendered people in relation to obtaining gender reassignment treatment.

PLS can also advise on other public law issues such as obtaining a gender recognition certificate or appealing a refusal of such a certificate.

At PLS we assist clients to challenge decisions by public authorities such as health bodies that they are unhappy with.  Unfortunately we cannot undertake claims in the private law field such as claims for discrimination in employment.
